KBS Coatings KBS MAXX, Quart, Med Activator, Clear/Flat

KBS MAXX Clear in flat is a two component, UV stable clear coat that brushes, rolls, or sprays to a hard, chemical resistant flat finish. Use it over KBS MAXX colors, or direct on bare metal, aluminum, and fiberglass to protect trailers, toolboxes, truck parts, and equipment without hiding the surface underneath. It holds up to fuel, oil, cutting fluids, and acids, resists heat up to 300 F, and passed 1,000 hours of salt spray at 3 to 4 mils. The quart kit includes 24 oz of base and 8 oz of MAXX Activator, mixed 3 to 1. It covers about 112 sq ft at 2 mils per coat. Do not use it alone over RustSeal; RustSeal needs an opaque, UV stable color topcoat.Clean the surface well with KBS Klean so it is free of grease, dirt, oil, and loose rust. Apply when the surface is between 45 and 110 F and at least 5 F above the dew point. Mix the base thoroughly with a mechanical mixer, add MAXX Activator at 3 parts base to 1 part activator, and mix again until fully combined. Pot life is 30 minutes, so mix only what you can apply, and never return mixed material to the can. KBS MAXX comes pre thinned and ready to brush, roll, or spray. Use a poly bristle brush or a fine roller, or spray with a 1.0 to 1.5 mm tip. Apply 1.5 to 2 mils per coat. Touch dry in about 30 minutes, recoat from 30 minutes to 3 days with no scuffing, and allow 7 days for full cure. Clean equipment with lacquer thinner, which is for cleanup only and not a reducer.
