Great product for your horse

I bought these stifle wraps for my horse with a previous stifle injury. For the price point (they are almost $200) I would expect them to get my horses leg actually cold. I had these ice wraps on my horse for almost 45 minutes and his legs were sweating underneath and weren’t cold at all. I will definitely be returning these. Standing next to him with an ice pack wrapped in a towel would probably work better than these did.

I bought these about a year ago after one of my horses strained his medium patellar ligament. They are designed fairly well, after all, it’s SUCH an awkward and difficult area to ice.. i couldn’t think of a better way to shape the product, however the part that goes over the croup attaches by Velcro (because you WILL have to adjust it for each horse you use it on) and the elastic Velcro will sometimes slide off backwards. If it had a grippy material on the underside i think this would help. Both my horses have learned how to wiggle out of it. Also the ice packs go directly onto the skin, which isn’t the best. I realize that if they weren’t frozen so solid this would be okay, but they often come out of the freezer that way so you either have to leave them in the sun a little to melt or just put them on. However i do really appreciate the fact that these exist and i don’t have to risk my life standing there holing a pack to the stifle area! Ha!
