Ice Horse Tendon Wraps with reuseable Cold Capsule Inserts provide uniform compression and cooling to reduce heat, swelling and inflammation of the tendons and ligaments around the cannon bone area. The wraps help prevent injury, removing heat post-workout, or treating bowed tendons and splints. Our inserts stay cold 3 x longer than gels and there's no watery mess. Comes complete with 2 wraps and 4 Cold Capsule Inserts.Available in Horse and Pony/Young Horse Lengths. Refer to Size chart for best fit.

  • Anatomical fit provides targeted cooling and compression.
  • Cold Capsule inserts are soft and mold to the horse's leg, staying cold for over two hours-3X longer than gels or buckets of ice water.
  • Wraps are made with Quadraspan, a Non-Neoprene anti-migration fabric. This unique breathable fabric keeps the wraps in place on the horses leg and the inserts properly compressed against the area being treated.
  • Specially placed Velcro with EZY Peel hook and loop closures allow for a secure tight fit every time. Removal is easy-no yanking or jerking on the tabs to undo.
  • Cold Capsule inserts mold to the horse's leg and are scientifically tested and proven to provide therapeutic cooling for over two hours.
  • When you are done, simply place your packs back in the freezer. Within hours they are ready to use again. You may also refreeze the packs in the wraps.

Difficult to use and does not cool legs well.

I bought these for my pony to use after jumping. I find the velcro straps VERY difficult to use. They stick to the inside lining and getting them on snug enough without moving the ice packs around it a challenge. Even when the pony is standing still. Also I find his legs do not cool down enough with the packs. I can not recommend these boots for their advertised use.

No, I do not recommend this product.

No as good as the old ones

I have been using these Tendon Wraps for about 2 weeks twice a day and the wraps are falling apart already. I had to stitch the straps and around the area that hold the ice packs. It is difficult to use the velcro on the wraps. The velcro straps stick so secure I find it hard to detach the strap. My old Ice Horse wraps which are least 10 years old are still going strong. These wraps were a simple design. Just folded like a book with the ice packs inside. Quick to get on the leg, stayed on and cooled the tendons. I had to buy the new wraps because I need to ice all 4 legs. These wraps are expensive and I am disappointed that they are not as good as the old ones.

No, I do not recommend this product.

An essential item for any barn

I couldn't be happier with these boots. I have used them for horses with a popped-splint, suspensory injuries as well as for maintenance for horses after particularly hard training days or have recovered from an injury for precautionary measures. This a great way to apply a cold sensation to your horse's legs without having to cold hose your horse's entire leg. The ice packs are slim and stay in place and so does the boot once it is applied to your horses leg. They are also very easy to take to shows as they do not take up much room. I either have the horse stand on crossties for 20-30 minutes when they have the boots on or let them hang out in their stall with some hay during that time. Even after I take the boots off, the ice packs are still ice cold. We have a barn of Morgans and the horse size fits every horse well.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Easier than DIY ice packs, and they do work!

It has taken me a long time to really get these figured out. You HAVE to get the leg wet -- I'll cold hose my horse's leg for 2 minutes and then apply the wraps. They work really well then, and I leave them on 20-30 minutes. The ice does get chunky and hard, but I just stomp on the ice packs and they break up. Of course 2 have exploded, but I duct taped them back up. I bought the older style hock wraps used as well because my horse has a high proximal suspensory injury and these tend to slip down (aka my horse likes to kick them down). I like these velcro, not pocket style ones better. You can customize them. I have the ice pack stick out beyond the wrap so that it when they inevitably slide down, I usually still get the area I want iced. I put these in horizontally now instead of vertically. My hock boots are the pocket style and I feel like the pocket prevents the leg from getting AS cold as the newer style. Overall I'd definitely recommend. You definitely need to do the inside middle strap, and then the outside middle strap and the top then bottom strap for them to stay. And if you're icing anything besides the proximal suspensory, these would be great. I should have gotten the taller ones!

Yes, I recommend this product.
