- A: Thank you very much for contacting us. To set the trap, please follow these steps: Turn the Door Lock to the open position. Hold the door open and place the bait behind the Trip Plate. Remove the Trigger Rod from the top of the trap. Attach the plastic end to the Trigger Rod Connection. Press down on the assembled Trigger Rod. At the same time, lift the Trip Plate Trigger and gently position the flat end of the Trigger Rod under the Trip Plate Trigger, so the door is held open and the Trip Plate is level. Close the Door Lock by rotating it on top of the door.a year agoHelpful?

Difficulty with trap door

We have not been successful using this trap for chipmunks, which was our primary reason for purchasing it. The door that is supposed to drop down easily, sticks and is therefore ineffective.

Flimsy

We bought the small animal trap less than a year ago. We used it a few times. Then this summer when we used it a squirrel literally tore the metal flap down and climbed out over it. The company will not refund our money even though it is within the one-year warranty period and just wants to send us another of the traps, which we do not want because it they are so flimsy.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Perfect squirrel catcher

This little cage is perfect. I have caught 8 squirrels in my yard. Put a little birdseed in a lid and set in back of cage and they also cant resist a peanut in the shell. I take them to a wooded area with a pond.
Now my birdseed last much longer.
