Harvest Right 5-Tray Medium Black Freeze Dryer with Premier Pump & Mylar Starter Kit

I’ve had my eye on these for a couple years now & im so happy we finally pulled the trigger & got one! My kids are loving the snacks and they’re so much healthier! I 10/10 recommend it’s easy to use, fits so much, & we haven’t had any issues.

I waited two years before purchasing my HarvestRight freeze-dryer. I had been pining after one, but I just couldn’t justify the cost. I finally broke down and got the medium size one (with a premium oil pump), and I’ve been using it A LOT! I absolutely love it, and wondered how I lived without it! I am not a survivalist, I simply enjoy the texture of freeze-dried foods — especially fruits and vegetables (and ice cream sandwiches!). I travel regularly and find it hard to get healthier foods, so having some packets of freeze-dried fruit and vegetables mixes to take with me is perfect! I always have healthy foods with me! The HarvestRight is so easy to use and takes all the complexity out of the process. I like to freeze my batches in our freezer ahead of time, stick the trays into the freeze dryer when prompted, and let it do its magic! So easy, and the results are amazing! I’ve done 4 batches already, and they’ll all been perfect! I also bought the WiFi attachment, which is very worth it for the convenience. It was easy to set up and works great! I have the premium pump, and the unit is in the basement, so the noise doesn’t bother us — it’s really not too bad. It would be somewhat noisy to have in a small living space, though, just as an FYI. The pump (oil pump) does put some exhaust into the room for those who are sensitive to air quality. It doesn’t “smell”, but our air filters pick up some PM 2.5 and turn on to filter the air. I just wouldn’t keep it in a main area in the home where you spend a lot of time without some kind of air filtration. That’s all. It’s actually a very well designed and lightweight pump. And, don’t let the (minor) pump exhaust deter you from getting a HarvestRight freeze dryer. It’s a superbly designed and built machine that, in and of itself is complex, but easy for anyone to use! If you like freeze-dried food and don’t like to pay the ridiculous prices in the store, I can’t recommend a HarvestRight enough!

I just received my machine from HR directly, I opted for the refurbish program as I was okay with cosmetic defects or returns as long as I got a like new fully functioning FD... But the insulation was damaged and the tray system was missing screws. HR wanted to send replacement insulation and screw and ask that I procure the tape to fix it. Brand new machine never used... Warranty and tech department can be frustrating to deal with.
