Double Wall Drinker provides a generous supply of cool water to promote intake for up to 51 poultry or game chicks. The constant water level of this double wall drinker is maintained in the pan by a vacuum, so there are no floats to get stuck or replaced. Q: I am filling the tank and replacing the top but the water doesn't flow once the trough is empty. Why is this?

- A: Hi! Per the vendor: The Harris Farms 2 Gallon Double Wall Drinker works on a vacuum seal principle when the base is full, and the lid is properly attached. When filling the fount there may be some water seepage around the valve and base of the pan; this is normal and will be stopped when the outer jacket is replaced. To remove the lid while water is in the unit: Tilt the fount to a 45-degree angle. This will break the air lock. Twist the lid to the left. Slowly lift the lid from the base. Poor coating

I have purchased about a dozen of these. Never again. They rust rather quickly. Start leaking. Before they leak the rust colors the water brown. All the chickens will drink from a plastic washer and only go to the rusty galvanized one in emergency when that is all the drinking water that they have.
No, I do not recommend this product.
