Q: Is this harmful if my dogs licks themselves while still wet

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! Happy Jack Kennel Dip II can be harmful and toxic if your dog licks their fur while it is still wet because it contains a highly concentrated insecticide called permethrin. To keep your pup safe, you must supervise them closely or use a protective cone collar until their coat is completely dry, at which point the chemical becomes totally safe.

Q: Is it leave on?

1 Answer
  • AI-generated, Human-approved
A: Yes, this is a leave-on product. You should let your dog drip dry after application and avoid rinsing it off, as the dip needs to remain on the skin for several days to be effective.

Q: Do I need to wait for my dog's skin to heal before I use it

2 Answers
  • A: Howdy neighbor! Yes, you must wait for your dog's skin to heal before applying Happy Jack Kennel Dip II if they have any raw spots, open sores, or bleeding wounds. Applying a concentrated chemical dip to broken skin allows the toxins to enter the bloodstream directly, which can cause intense chemical burns, severe irritation, or systemic poisoning.

Q: Is this safe around children and cats?

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! No, Happy Jack Kennel Dip II is absolutely not safe for cats and must be kept entirely out of reach of children. This professional-grade concentrate contains 17% permethrin, a powerful insecticide that is highly toxic to a cat's central nervous system and can cause life-threatening neurological distress or tremors. Furthermore, the official label explicitly warns that the bottle must be kept away from children, and anyone applying the product must wear waterproof, chemical-resistant gloves to prevent absorption through human skin.

Awesome results - read the label and use your head

We use it as a premises spray in our dog's areas and as a protective spray on our clothes when hunting or otherwise afield. Works perfectly. Have also used as a dip for an infestation and it was excellent. This is a concentrate that shouldn't be used full strength. Additionally, it alone is not a fix all. You must treat your yard, all areas the dog(s) frequent, and the animal itself. We used as a dip once per week until we broke the flea lifecycle. One week appears to be it's most effective timeframe. I use a soresto collar on the pups and the dip for treating areas. Read the label!!! Don't use on young, senior, or ill animals, and mix as directed and you won't have a problem.
