Good price and works well

I bought this a month ago and used it to split about a cord of extremely knotty maple. Couldn't be happier with my investment. I see allot of people complaining that the handles break, well they're wood so it happens. I've even broken a couple of fiberglass mauls over the years. It's all about how you use any tool and if you take care of it.

Beware

I did get some use out of the maul before the handle broke. In my estimation, the handle at the of connection is too small. It can not withstain the impact of the 8 lb head. The rubber sleeve is basically a cover up that may or may not have significant function. In a perfect world, may be ok. But any flaws in the handel will be evident in short use.

I ordered this from tractor supply for delivery. Big mistake. Handle was not comfortable. I am a big man with big hands and they barely fit around it. But didn't have to worry to much about it as it broke within 50 swings.
