Ground Works 50 lb Spreader is a piece of junk!

I purchased this spreader this past summer. Today is the first day I tried using it. The transmission sounds like it is falling apart. It is supposed to hold 50 lbs. It is hard to push with 20 lbs of fertilizer. It is useless. I had to go back to my old Scott's spreader. Construction is ok, mechanically it is junk. The controller is ok. Since it was so hard to push coverage was poor. If i could give it negative stars i would. I do not recommend this spreader.

Not the quality that I expected. The add says that the tires are pneumatic, but they appear to be plastic. It is light in weight & tips over easily.

Don't waste your money or time on this. Where to start? Kickstand way too tall, has you throwing material at an angle into the ground. Gear train mechanism is flimsy and you can hear it jumping teeth while you're pushing it. The agitator is way too far above the feed holes, will not keep rye grass seed from clogging the feed holes. chute from feed holes to the flinger is too tight and will allow material to bind up against the flinger. Overall flimsy construction and every fastener was loose after 30 minutes of use.

No, I do not recommend this product.

BE AWARE....DO NOT BUY ME.

I was so excited to try this spreader when I got it home. Tightened the wingnuts and I was pouring fertilizer in the hopper. That was the last of my happiness. When I slowly put the shifter in position to set the setting, I was so upset when I started pushing the spreader over my grass, a huge blast of material came out. When I went on an angle , a big amount came out the side. I am so disappointed with the spreader. My opinion is the shifter that dials the setting is not the right thing to have, and the 4 slots that the material comes out of too much comes out. I have ruined my grass that I take pride in so much. If I could send pictures you would cry like me. I would not buy this product.
