Follow instructions on the package for preparing, mixing and planting tips.

  • Cow manure and compost mix provides natural nutrition to help grow vegetables and flowers
  • Prepare soil by applying 2-3 in. to the top of the desired planting area
  • Rototill or use a shovel to mix into the top 4-6 in. of native soils and then level the soil area
  • Plant seeds or plants according to directions and water thoroughly
  • 1 bag of Garden Soil covers 1 cu. ft.

Half the price of Black Cow (2026)

The website will not let me upload images - but I'll try again. I wanted to compare side by side a few of the compost available this year at my local store - The 2 best so far is THIS Groundworks and Black Cow - but this year Black Cow is TEN dollars. Side by side Groundworks when WET looks slightly lighter than Black Cw - but DRY actually looks a little darker. Honestly there were a few pieces i the Groundworks that were bigger than Black Cow, but not tons. For my money I'll be going with Groundworks

Saw dust in a bag!

Out of 15 bags, 13 were basically just fine sawdust. Only 2 bags appeared to have manure mixed in. 13 bags looked like sand, until I realized it was probably saw dust.

It was added to garden soil and tilled into garden soil/compost.The plants look good so far. It is very heavy bag and is very dense/moist. It is first time I have purchased manure, pleased to note no unpleasant odor. That was a concern.
