30 day review in professional shop, used as a rip saw for lumber and squaring up cabinet doors with the slider. Pros: Taiwanese machines are generally hit and miss, but this saw's fit, finish and alignment out of the crate was strangely precise. Very important: the manual is well-written in plain but verbose English, one of Grizzly's strengths. Slider travel is dead-on parallel with the blade and dead flush with the cast iron table. Blade stops at 0° and 45° were precisely set. Rip fence extrusion is flat, no twists. The motor (Grizzly's weak spot) sounds healthy and is behaves well so far. Blade guard design is reasonable and not too obtrusive. I haven't checked arbor runout with a dial indicator but there's no visible wobble on a 12" Amana rip blade. Maintenance: acme threads and machined ways for lift and tilt are easy to access and lubricate, and adjustment bolts for slider alignment are in the open. Cons: I'd deduct half a star for the chintzy dust collector hose holder for the blade guard. I ditched it in favor of a shop-built 3" duct that hinges out of the way similar to Maksiwa's design. Also the clear plastic blade guard itself can wobble just enough to contact the blade. It's only a matter of time before it self-destructs. I think the splitter thickness could have been bumped up a notch to mitigate wobble. Summary: most 5' sliders are nearly identical from one manufacturer to the next, differing mostly in paint color, blade guard design and ease of maintenance. With this machine, Grizzly made mostly good design choices where it mattered.
