GreenView Pure Grass Seed Kentucky Bluegrass Blend combines only top-rated, cool season seed varieties. This grass seed blend will produce a beautiful dark green turf with the fine, wispy texture known to Kentucky bluegrass. The lawn density created by this seed mix is consistently excellent as it self-repairs in any areas that become worn from family foot traffic. The seeds experience germination in 14-days to 28-days for a well-established lawn in no time flat. This grass seed is highly drought tolerant for peace of mind.

Q&As

1 - 8 of 8 Questions

Q: Will this germinate in cold temps

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Kentucky bluegrass is a cool-season grass but requires soil temperatures of about 50–65 °F to germinate reliably. If the soil is colder than 50 °F, germination may be very slow or may not occur until the soil warms. Planting in colder soil is possible, but expect delayed sprouting and slower growth.

Q: Named cultivars and percentage of each, germination rate of each cultivar, percentage of weed seed and inert matter per bag?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "Each bag will have a seed tag that shows cultivar percentages and germination rate percentages along with percentages of weed seed, inert matter, etc. The percentages could change slightly depending on the lot number associated with each bag. Unfortunately, I do not have an example of the tag for the GreenView Kentucky Bluegrass."

1 Answer
  • A: The best time to plant Kentucky bluegrass and do major lawn maintenance is during early fall as cool-season KBG growth peaks.

Q: I have a Scott's AccuGreen 2000 drop spreader and am looking to find out what spreader setting I should use to overseed for this seed. It is not on the bag. Thank you !

1 Answer
  • A: With a handheld broadcast spreader, Scotts recommends a setting of 4 when overseeding or seeding a new lawn but suggests that the sower make two perpendicular passes for new areas. For drop spreaders, use a setting of 8 1/2 for overseeding and a bare-lawn setting of 12 1/2.

Easy to grow!

Great quality grass seeds! We didn’t know what we were doing as first time homeowners with our lawn. We bought this, did very minimal prep to the ground (in some spots, none at all), and grass started popping up everywhere! It survived the brutal winter we just had in Ohio and all the well established areas are still green and growing now that it’s warming up. Some of the areas I planted in late October didn’t make it but not unexpected when we were already getting snow then. I’ll be seeding our entire lawn with this from now on.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Just the seed, Ma’am.

If you’re doing any reseeding, or overseeding, this is the product for you. I did research on the product, and it seemed perfect for overseeding after areating the lawn. I’m not saying that other products that I used in the past were bad; however my preference is to put down seed only. A few weeks down the road, I can say that I’m very happy with the result.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Wrong product shipped

Wrong product shipped...received rye grass instead of Kentucky Blue Grass. I can use the Rye in another location so I'll keep it but quality control needs to be looked at.
