I carry and use mine daily. I like feel in my hand as well as the peace of mind when I need it, it's there on my side. Not so good for protection. But knowing its there is always a relief.

I’ve had my suspension for over 25yrs and a month ago the suspension part of the pliers snapped. Gerber /Fiskars group advised that it’s over the 25yrs warranty and I couldn’t provide proof of purchase or store location (25yr memory loss lol) and parts are not available.

It really seems like it should be a great, lifelong product. I was given this as a gift (in packaging) from a former employer and upon first use, the spring loading mechanism broke off. First use. I haven't wanted to pitch it so it sat in a drawer for years. I stumbled upon it again recently and figured I'd get it fixed just to take advantage of their warranty offer. Reading through the other reviews, this seems like a common problem. Hope they figure out that design flaw.

Worked GREAT for everything for a year. The locking bar for the handle broke. I contacted warranty claims to try and get a replacement part so I could fix it, but haven't heard anything back for several weeks. It was good while it lasted, but without the ability to repair it when this part breaks I will have to replace it with a different brand.

The Gerber suspension is useful for exactly what it was made for. It's not big in the size of the tool set that's offered but the steels of decent quality for what you pay for it. My Gerber suspension had a lanyard tool which I removed and put a awl from a Gerber truss in place of it. (removed the lanyard and one washer to make the thicker awl fit perfectly) This better completed the tool set. In my opinion Gerber missed it by not including a decent file. That being said the Gerber Truss which is the next step up from the Suspension has a file but it's not of much value. Both tools need files of decent quality. Otherwise why bother with them at all? and of course the suspension didn't bother at all. That being said it seems to be a decent quality of a 420 HC steel. I would probably recommend honing the already sharp from the factory straight blade knife that's in the tool. Sharpening the can opener wouldn't hurt. Do I think you could purchase a more complete multi-tool for the same money? I believe this is maybe true. However I will tell you this, it would be an off-brand and you would not have Gerber's Warranty and the company support that you're going to have with this Gerber Multi tool. In other words this has value people so consider this when you purchase a multi-tool. If you buy a one that has a more tools/features to it in an off-brand directly from China and then it breaks down the road, and there is no warranty or customer service you just threw your money away. These things must always be taken into consideration when making purchases. Otherwise you will buy twice.

Bought this 9 years ago using it at work and it was still going strong. Great durability and reliability, sadly mine was stolen, but i’m so glad they still make it I’ll be getting another suspension soon!

My dad let me have one of his sets of this multi tools, I use it for many things and I've come to learn that when working on a bike I only need this and a couple of wrenches. I highly suggest this multi tool!

I have had this tool for over 5 years. Never had a problem.

I have owned mine for 5+ yrs. Saves the day often.

This product is great. Very useful. But I have one problem. The spring snapped. And i dont know where to get a replacement for that. Maybe you can help me with that. Thank you

I loved my Gerber but I broke one side of my  needle nose  jaws off.Ca Can I get it replaced?

Ive had mine for a few years. As camera man that works in adverse conditions all over Africa this tool takes a beating and it’s never failed

Bought this multi-Tool look just awesome opened it up and one of the locks for the handle snaped right off on first opening

It is amazing it has good grip and it is easy to use but the only hard thing is to unlock the knife to put it back in its slot

Received as a gift, tried it as my edc for a few months but couldnt get used to it. I found that it flexed more than my other multitools and the tools stripped very easily. The blades have held a nice edge, but the pliers haven't held up very well at all.

I love my Gerber Suspension multi-tool. I find that it comes in hand very frequently. Most of the time I am just taking apart my wife's amazon boxes but the other day I needed a pair of wire snips and I pulled out my multi-tool and was able to snips the wires and not have to run down to basement where my tools are.

Very good multitool especially quality. The suspension is also u a plus . Im very happy with that tool

Was given this as a birthday present just over a year ago. When using the tool to hold a small bolt while tightening a nut, one of the jaws of the pliers broke off.

I've had my Gerber Suspension since 2012. It's the best, I've carried it on hunting, camping trips. It's been with me almost daily since I purchased it. Thanks for producing such an amazing product.

I bought these around 2013-14 and nothing has broken or stopped working. The pliers still work silky smooth, the serrated blade still cuts perfectly. Just the normal blade that I had to sharpen a couple times, but that's due to me using it more. I've had these forever and would use them basically every single week if not every day. Definitely have passed the test of time. Would 10/10 recommend.

I've had mine for over a decade. Recently, though, the small-blade screwdriver snapped off. Pretty sure i over-torqued it. The rest of the bits on the tool still work just fine. Probably gonna pick up a new one though, this one is pretty beat up.

Clip broke without undue pressure that holds the pliers. Now pliers are useless and I can not find any replacement part.

I loved this little tool, but I broke the pliers at the base near the central hinge. Sounds like a common problem. I was definitely doing something it was not rated for, however, so I would still recommend it. I liked the sheath, I must have bought It after they made some changes because mine worked just fine. I just don't use the sheath because I'm more of a metal clip/loop kind of guy. For now, my shirt pocket works just fine.

tool itself is great, but the sheath WILL cost you the tool. If Gerber replaced it with one with a snap enclosure, it definitely would be 5 stars
