It is also helpful to know what to expect regarding your spray patterns once the pump is installed: Spray Gun Performance: While the 4.5 GPM pump provides more volume, the horizontal spray distance will remain largely the same. You may see a slight increase in vertical reach—roughly an additional foot—due to the higher volume available, but the overall spray pattern will remain consistent with what you are used to. Boom Spray Setup: Please note that the upgrade will not change the spray performance of your current boom setup. The spray pattern and output from your boom are dictated by the nozzle tips currently installed on the boom. - A: Kirk, the 5277981 is the old 2.1 GPM pump with a 60 PSI rating. The 4.5 GPM also has a 60 PSI rating. You're not going to gain anything pressure wise going to the larger pump. Expense wise, you're probably going to be better off with the 2.4 GPM pump that has replaced the older 2.1, it also has a 60 PSI rating.a year agoHelpful?

Joey, sorry you're having that issue, please contact our customer service team at 800-831-0027 and they'll be happy to troubleshoot the issue and assist you with whatever is needed. Not sure how old the pump is, but it sounds like it could be a defective check valve.

poor performance

Tractor Supply needs to take this pump off the shelves. I've had to replace this pump 3 times in the last month thinking no way its the pump. I then test the pump off of the equ.. an no power at all or it has half the power. I went yesterday afternoon to replace the one that went bad Monday. I put the replacement pump on this morning, it last me a hour an its out.Today 8/27/25 I'll have to take this one back. I'd rather get my money back an go with a different brand.

Absolute Junk

Would give it no stars if it was an option. Absolutely junk. I contacted customer service and got told it was the surfactant that was included in the roundup that caused the issue. I guess if all you’re going to spray is clean water it will probably work fine. If you plan to actually use it don’t buy it. Can’t believe they can get $1000.00 dollars for a sprayer with this pump thats no more than a water tank.

Sorry you had that issue. I do hope our customer service team took care of you without any issues, as we stand behind our products. Yes, chemicals with petroleum distillates and surfactants can cause issues with the check valve in the pump, as surfactants are a sticking additive and can cause the valves to stick a little.
