The Field & Stream J-Cradle Kayak Carrier is a stable and reliable option to transport your watercraft. The heavy-duty steel frame supports up to 150 lb. total and is made from rust-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials. The J-bar design and foam pads cradle a single recreational kayak or fishing kayak keeping it secure during transportation. The universal mounting system ensures compatibility with most factory installed or aftermarket crossbar rooftop racks. The package comes complete with 2 kayak carriers, tie-down ropes with hooks, safety straps and all necessary mounting hardware for easy installation. Make transporting your kayak simple with this convenient Field & Stream kayak carrier.

  • J-shaped bracket carries 1 kayak, or a load capacity up to 150 lb.
  • Easy to load and unload with a wide mouth
  • Universal mounting system fits on most aftermarket or factory installed crossbars on SUVs, trucks or vans
  • Crossbars must be at least 25 in. apart for safety; measuring this is recommended before purchase (crossbars are not included)
  • Thick foam padding helps prevent the kayak from rubbing and scratching and reduces the risk of shifting during transit, which is crucial for a safe drive
  • Painted, heavy-duty steel frame features a rust-resistant finish to help protect against corrosion, wear and harsh weather conditions

Good bone

The J hooks work great. However make sure to buy yourself a good strap because the ones that came with it weren’t too reliable. Drove for 2 hours and had to stop and check the kayaks 5 times because they would become undone. Don’t make any sounds, so that’s was a win!

Works as advertised! Used them over Memorial Day weekend they worked great. My only complaint is that the supplied straps have a lot of stretch in them.
