- A: We do not test it for birdseed. The only feeds we have tested it for is corn. I dont see why it wouldnt work. The things you want to avoid are pellet type feeds. The absorb moisture and can clog the downspout.a month agoHelpful?

Solid feeder. Decent deal.

Solid feeder. Battery life is good. Not hard to assemble. Added the solar panel for the one in the sun. I'll add details on a review for that specifically but there was more tooling required than I initially anticipated but not a dealbreaker.
The only thing that I have noticed is that every couple months I've needed to take the cage off and wipe it down so residue / corn don't get stuck on the bottom plate of the cage but completely reasonable. Just an FYI, not an actual issue.
Have had no issues with raccoons etc.and there are plenty around.

Feed more than just corn but keep the corn at 50%

Works great ... I have a 9ah battery in that is still fully charged after 8wks of continuous use (4ea distributions a day for a total of about 23 seconds). This delivers about 70lbs of feed a week to a herd of about 18 deer. Works great with corn. However, I like to include roasted soybeans and black oil sunflower seeds as well in my mix to offer better nutrition. Keep the corn at a 50% min and make sure your feed is mixed and it will disperse just fine. I have had not had any water ingress or any issues with the spinner being clogged. I will say I added some of my own silicone sealant to the bottom of the lid to ensure I get not moisture in there and have not to date (knock on wood) ... we've seen some pretty good storms as well. Great feeder ... would definitely recommend it!

Easy to assemble and program timer. Being older is a harder for me to add corn to feeder but I over come that by using a metal step stool.
