- A: Hello Lupe, Thank you for reaching out to Farm Innovators. *99% of the products you purchase that are designed to plug into an outlet say, “do not use with an extension cord.” This is due to liability issues. You are using our product with another company’s product, which we have not tested before. Therefore, without testing, we cannot explicitly endorse using our product with an extension cord. However, most consumers use our product with extension cords because they have to. As with most products of this nature. So, I think you will be fine to use ours with an extension cord. 7 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hello Pennie, Thank you for reaching out to Farm Innovators. I would not recommend the HP-125 because it would cook the food more than keep it warm. I would recommend our PH-200, which is a chicken warmer, but if put next to the food dish it will send out enough heat to keep it from freezing. Thank you,7 months agoHelpful?
Q: Can this be used outdoors

- A: Yes, the Farm Innovators 125W Heated Base Coop Heater can be used outdoors, but it must be in a dry, covered area. It is designed with weather-resistant materials like rust-resistant galvanized steel for durability in unheated coops, pens, or sheltered outdoor areas. For safety, the cord should be protected from animals and the unit should always be plugged into a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected outlet.7 months agoHelpful?

Works great, even with plastic waterer!
I was nervous when I first bought this because on the box it said do not use with a plastic waterer, I only have a plastic waterer. I was afraid it might get warm enough to melt the plastic. But it has been working great for about a month now. It only turns on when it gets below 35 so it saves power. I just checked in the coop, its keeping the water warm even at 19! Defiantly worth it for our cold winters

Great when they work but they don't last long

I have owned a total of three of these units; two have failed within 3 months. They are used under a covered run, on top of a piece of slate, so just like as if they are inside. The problem is that these develop a short and thus trip the GFCI outlet. I don't recommend them.
