- A: Hi, Here is the information we received from our vendor- "The compost process will slow down in the winter. Continue to add a balance of green (nitrogen) and brown (carbon) materials, vegetable peelings, coffee grounds, eggshells, and shredded newspaper. Breaking them into small pieces increases the surface area for organisms to work on. The more material you have in the composter the more it will retain heat. Keep an eye on the moisture level. If it appears to dry, add a little water. The Aerobin is insulated so it will hold in some warmth depending on how long the temperatures are below freezing. Once the outside temperatures warm up the compost process should resume."a year agoHelpful?

Great size but remember it is a plastic structure. Might look out of place in the wrong location.
