Mixing And Feeding Directions:
For warm bottle feeding, mix 1 enclosed cup filled to the bottom of the rim, of DuMOR Goat Kid Milk Replacer powder (approx. 8 oz)* into 3 pints (48 fluid oz, 6 liquid kitchen cups) of clean, warm water (110-120° F) until completely dissolved. Allow the mixed milk replacer solution to cool to at about 90-100° F before feeding. Refrigerate unused milk replacer solution promptly.

DuMOR Goat Kid Milk Replacer is acidified to keep the mixed solution fresh up to 24 hours. Clean and sanitize feeding equipment and provide fresh solution daily. Monitor milk replacer intake carefully, as overconsumption can increase the likelihood of scours or bloat.

*Note: Due to the difference in density, the enclosed cup hold approximately 9 ounces of dry powder by weight, or 20 fluid ounces of liquid (water or milk replacer solution). The difference is due to the variation in density between powder and liquid. Please see the chart on the product package for detailed feeding directions.

I have a bag of Kid Milk Replacer from last year. Kidding season is upon me and I am checking supplies and getting ready in case I have to bottle feed. I have looked for an expiration date on the product but cannot find one. Is this bag still good?

Asked by: Pam73
We apply manufacturing date codes, not expiration dates, while looking at the front of the bag it would be on the left side. Milk replacer has a 12 month shelf life.

How long or at what age should kids be fed a bottle ? and what is the average weaning age of a kid ?

Asked by: MJG1
Day 1-- It’s important newborn goat kids receive colostrum as soon after birth as possible. Day 2 to weaning— A rule of thumb is to wean a goat kid when it triples its birth weight. For most dairy and meat breeds of goat this is around 24-30 lbs. and typically between 30-45 days of age. Wean only healthy, growing goat kids that are consuming hay and grain daily.

Asked by: Zubhanwc3
A 7lb bags of DuMor Kid Milk Replacer will make 14 servings using the enclosed 8oz cup. This is based on age of the kid.
