Experience the difference of pure food grade Diatomaceous Earth Powder for Humans and Pets. Safe for human and pet use, our DE is free from all additives, certified organic, professionally packaged, and is the only official diatomaceous earth health supplement on the market. Where does DE come from? Diatomaceous earth is made up of tiny fossilized diatoms (plankton) that have accumulated over millennia in fresh water lakes. These pure deposits are mined and ground into a fine powder that is naturally high in silica and other minerals. It is this chalky white powder that we call diatomaceous earth. Use diatomaceous earth powder for fleas to help keep pet pests under control. This natural, absorbent stain, odor and flea powder is easy to apply.

For additional information on this product, please see the Product Documents section for all downloadable user manuals, installation guides, brochures and warranty statements.

  • Food grade DE - meets U.S. Food chemicals codex standards
  • OMRI listed - for organic use
  • Natural product - safe for human or animal consumption
  • No additives - 100% pure freshwater diatomaceous earth
  • No Contaminants - Professionally Packaged Using Stainless Steel Machinery
  • Being high in silica, DE supports the growth of healthy hair, skin, nails and joints when used as a health supplement
  • DE can be mixed in with any dry food storage including grains, flour, legumes, rice, and corn
  • Because DE absorbs liquids, it will help keep your food dry and uncontaminated
  • DE can be applied directly to your pets coat to limit odors and works well in the bottom of your trash can to keep unwanted smells at bay
  • Use diatomaceous earth powder for fleas to help keep pet pests under control
  • Stain, odor and flea powder is easy to apply

Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade

I purchased this as a "Food Grade" Diatomaceous Earth. I assure anyone reading this that I have not tasted nor eaten any of this product (although some do to supposedly rid the human body of parasites and other wee beasties that go bump in the night?). I use this only for spreading on my vegetable garden. I 'puff' it onto the leaves. I have been using red Diatomaceous Earth for a numbe of years, since it is much cheaper. Both work by desicating insects by removing wax from their exoskeltons and allowing bodily fluids to evaporate. Further, the DE gets into insect joints and creates more chaos. Is this more humane than insecticid? Perhaps not, but it is perfectly safe for humans (since we are so much larger and don't have exoskeletons (our skin keeps us moist on the inside). This white food grade seems much finer that the red (I didn't look with my microscope). Ergo: I think it is more tenacious regarding the leaves and insects. I have definitly seen a reduction in squash bugs, aphids, potato beetles, and other riffraff. Anyway: I ordered this on-line and did a store pick-up. I was not asked for ID and merely pointed to my item. I left the store and put in the rear of my car. Voila! One thing I must add...wear goggles and a mask when spreading. Perhaps, gloves if you have trepidation. And until you clean up...everything you touch will have a fine white powder left on it. My shed door once was red and now is white. Of course, it will come off...but not without rinsing.

This is a good product but I'm giving it one star until they change the answer to one of the questions about the product. The person asked if it could be harmful to cats if it is inhaled. It can be harmful if inhaled but whoever's answering the questions answered only that it is safe for pets. . I will update to 5 stars when they change that answer.

Great product and safe for people & pets/wild life

Works great. I keep it in an outer bowl and put another bowl in the middle for the stray cat food. Also for the dog water, prevents roaches from getting in bucket.
