This DEWALT Abrasive BlastVac is the ideal product for portable and clean abrasive blasting, with a recovery system that allows you to get the most of your abrasive media. This clever 2-in-1 unit recovers media for reuse while blasting via the cleverly designed handle gun / handle system, which contains a blasting nozzle, vacuum chamber and containment brush. This BlastVac eliminates the need to use the messy and wasteful spray to waste portable blasters of the past. Abrasive material is drawn into the gun, projected through the nozzle to blast away old coatings, rust, debris and paint and at the same time the vacuum feature in the gun recovers and circulates the media back into the unit to be reused. This unit recycles up to 90% of the abrasive media for reuse making spray to waste obsolete!

Q: Is this machine able to use soda as a media...?
a year ago- A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "No, we do not recommend soda. The abrasive media guide we recommend is as follows: black aluminum oxide at high power for removing rust, paint, and body filler. Also, glass beads at medium power, which are safe for soft medal, remove rust, paint, and body filler. Then walnut shells at delicate power are used to clean or polish soft metal, fiberglass, wood and stone. We hope this assists you!"a year agoHelpful?
Q: Would this unit (0369) be able to remove daged and peeling stucco by a homeowner on a fairly large scale?
a year ago- A: Jerry, note, an air compressor is needed to utilize this unit and we do believe it will work with brick and stucco, just be aware the hose is 8'. We have only tested the unit with the hose length supplied. Be aware. there may be a slight drop in efficiency as there would be a drop in operating pressure and vacuum recovery with the use of longer hoses. Q: Does this need an external air compressor?
a year ago- A: Jerry, we are sorry to see but the response provided a day ago was incorrect. The Blast Vac DOES need an air compressor to work with it. You would connect an air hose coupler to air inlet plug located on side of unit, a 115 PSI and 10 SCFM unit recommended. The users manual link that they provided may assist.
