Aronia Berry is a sour berry native to the eastern half of the United States. It is vigorous, cold hardy and grows well in various soil types. These berries may be eaten raw but are often used in wine, jam, soft spreads, and other processed foods. Aronia Berry is a dormant plant selected by DeGroot, offering you the opportunity to get a head start to the season! Due to its dormant state, this plant may lack foliage until it is planted. There is no need to wait until after frost, this may be planted as soon as the ground is workable. This early planting prevents transplant shock and allows it more time to develop its root system. If your plant does have foliage, provide protection from frost. Depending on the climate and weather experienced after planting, this plant could take up to 4-6 weeks to break dormancy and show signs of growth.Guaranteed to Grow* Product must be purchased before June 1st. Sales receipt and UPC required. For refund, please go to: https://retail.degroot-inc.com/guarantee.

Bushels of Fruit - Just ignore it and give it time

My review is WAY past due, but I planted an Aronia berry at our house in Northern Illinois. We know that they are a high antioxidant "superberry" so we wanted to give it a try. It grew very well, especially after the 2nd year. Still not much for fruit at that time, but slowly and surely, every year following, there were more and more flowers, and more and more berries. about 5 or 6 years later, this bush is now about 6 feet tall and produces several 5 gallon buckets of berries every fall. The berries weight the branches almost to the ground with no trimming or fertilizing. The berries are pretty "tart" but kindof suck the moisture out of your mouth like a very dry wine. Knowing what the health benefits are of them, I eat them with pleasure. They will make a great wine or jam. Maybe good in a pie with strawberries, but I just eat them raw. So worth the wait!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought 7 of these three springs ago, and they're just starting to wake up again. They haven't fruited yet, but they are all about 3' tall with many branches after starting out as sticks with a couple leaves.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
