Q&As

1 - 10 of 32 Questions

Q: What is the horse power on this mower

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! The Cub Cadet Z1 42S Zero-Turn Mower (MPN: 17ALGBYS010) is powered by a 547cc single-cylinder Cub Cadet IntelliPOWER engine (Model AX90Z0). While Cub Cadet officially labels the engine by its displacement (547cc) rather than an exact horsepower rating, this specific block is structurally rated at 17.5 to 19.5 horsepower, with its built-in digital IntelliPOWER governor automatically adjusting the throttle to deliver up to 18% more available torque when you hit thick or wet grass.

Q: Does it have a brake pedal

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! No, the Cub Cadet Z1 42S zero-turn mower does not have a foot-operated brake pedal, relying instead on a hand-operated lever on the control console for its parking brake. Because this model uses a steering wheel with Synchro-Steer technology, your feet simply control the forward and reverse floor pedals, while the hydrostatic transmission automatically slows you to a stop whenever you let off the gas.

Q: Will it fit through a 44 inch wide gate?

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! Unfortunately, the Cub Cadet Z1 42S zero-turn mower will not fit through a 44-inch gate because its actual steel deck shell measures roughly 45 to 46 inches wide.

Q: does it mow in reverse?

2 Answers
  • A: Hello! Yes, the Cub Cadet Z1 42S Zero Turn Mower (Model 17ALGBYS010) is designed to mow in reverse. Because it uses Synchro-Steer technology with a steering wheel rather than traditional lap bars, it follows the same safety protocol as Cub Cadet riding tractors to keep the blades spinning while backing up. Thank you for your question!

Q: Can u pull a wagon with it

2 Answers
  • A: Hello Mike. Yes, you can pull a wagon with the Cub Cadet Z1 42S Zero Turn Mower, provided you use the appropriate hitch attachment. Cub Cadet offers hitch kits for their zero-turn mowers, and the Z1 42S is compatible with these accessories.Do not exceed 250–300 lbs for the wagon and its load (subtract your own weight from the mower’s total towing capacity). If you plan to tow regularly, consider using only on flat, even terrain and avoid sharp turns or steep slopes for safety and to protect your mower’s transmission. Thank you for your question.

Love it!!

So I've had mine for about 3 months and I love it! The turning on hills is a GAME CHANGER!! I have a hill that is easily close to 25 or 30 degree and this bad boy takes it with ease!!! Feels completely safe!! I've had people in their trucks whip their head around when they see me turn on a hill with ONE HAND!! LOL!!

Yes, I recommend this product.
