Rated 2 out of 5 by from Gear issue I've had this blower for about 3 years with no problem until this year. Heard a loud band and realized the worm gear must of broke. Didn't hit anything. Took it in and after a week waiting finally got it fixed. It was the worm gear. The first time I used it was with a powdery snow and it worked great. Used it about two weeks later with a heavier snow and had another big bang happen. Nothing hit just 10" of snow. Will only blow snow a few feet now. Spent $375 this first time a few weeks ago. Not happy with this worm drive. Why now, not doing anything different. Great concept but manufacture design has problems. I wouldn't buy this style again unless they fix issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eats Snow Like An Animal I bought it last spring and put it on this fall. I have used it many times this year in wet and heavy snow, dry snow and deep snow. It works awesome. It loves to eat snow. I can blow the snow 35+ feet away if it is heavy and 50+ feet if it is powdery. My two driveways used to take 2 hours to blow out with the walk behind, it now takes 20 minutes. It is faster and alot less work. I like that it has a steel chute and impeller. Many other brands have plastic impellers. The controls work good and are easy to used. I put it on my XT2 22hp lawn tractor. Installation is not hard. The blower is heavy which means it is built good. Make sure to get the weight kit and chains or you will just spin the tires and go no where. It is WELL worth the cost. No more walk behind snowblower for me. Tired of slipping on ice, taking forever, and moving it around. I like to sit down and enjoy the ride. It makes snow storms fun. It leaves more time to snowmobile.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great.. when its not decommissioned. Bought the New 2019 XT2 Mower in spring and used the mower and bagging attachment that worked fantastic. All my issues came come winter time. The underwhelming cab is flimsy and could not get the wrinkles out even with the help of the dealership making in almost impossible to see what i'm doing. Then, after one use (about 6 inches of snow) the main shaft to the gearbox of the blower broke. The dealership nearby replaced it under warranty with no questions asked. Then, 2 uses later with about 3-4 inches of light snow it HAPPENED AGAIN! Dealer said this may be a continuing problem due to a design flaw on Cubs end. Is anybody else having this problem? Majorly frustrated and will be looking for alternate snow removal. Too bad because otherwise was really happy with the machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Woth the investment This machine works very well on my Cub Cadet XT1 LT46 with the 22HP v-twin. It blows wet heavy snow better than most and dry snow doesn't stand a chance. 50-60 feet distance is not uncommon. I have cleared snow from 4"-18" deep with no issues. I often have to blow to one side of the driveway and then blow it out of the way and the machine moves once blown snow very well, which is often a challenge for other machines. I knock down snow banks, remove the pile left by the city snow plow and have only broken 2 shear pins. It is well built and does a great job. I am not sure why some of these reviewers are complaining about not being able to move wet or heavy snow. Wide open engine throttle and slow down so the machine can work and you will have no problems. My only complaints are: -The chute elevation control does not hold. Heavy conditions will push the chute straight up so I have to hold the handle. Set it too tight and it will not move at all, and too lose and it will not hold. To be fair, my last machine did the same thing. -The bar that holds the chute controls kind of gets in the way of the fuel filler. -I would like an option for a 44" and a 48" blower. The 22-25hp can easily handle it and would clear a path wider than (not as wide as) as the wheel path of the tractor. Tip: Don't even think about not buying tire chains or the rear weight kit. They are essential and you will not be happy with out them.

Sorry- one last question. In watching install videos online, what is entailed in converting this from a snow blower back to a mowing deck? It appears there is a bracket which attaches to the frame, but will that stay in place when reattaching the deck?

Asked by: Bubba551
Hello Bubba551. Yes, that is correct. The bracket can stay attached for easy installation and removal of the snow blower. Thank you for your question.

We have a 12% grade on a hill. Other yard tractors have stalled going up. Their manuals had mentioned this was a possibility. How is Cub Cadet on steep inclines?

Asked by: Skuzzle Butt
Hello - All Cub Cadet riders that this snow thrower attachment attaches too are rated to safely operate on slopes of up to 15 degrees. However, if this attachment attached, that could severely limit the mowers ability to traverse those slopes. Thank you for your question.
