is this ok to use with diesel

That valve uses Viton seals and O-rings and the material is rated “excellent” for use with diesel. This item would work well with diesel.

When energized, the 1/2" boom outlet opens; shouldn't the 3/4" boom bypass close ? I'm on a second valve that doesn't fully close the bypass; is this the design ?

The ¾” line is a supply line for the valve, It does not close. It will need to be capped or have a pressure regulator with a return line attached.
