- A: Strainers are generally not rated for flow rate as the capture of particulate matter in the screen will affect that flow rate, so it depends on the water quality to some degree. The best estimate for this particular strainer is 15GPM – 20GPM with a pressure rate drop of about 5psi. This too will vary as more matter collects in the screen. As more GPM is pushed through this strainer, the psi drop will also be more significant (ie: approx. 10psi drop at 30GPM).5 years agoHelpful?
