Unusual uses

I run a watershed protection group, and our activities include riverside litter cleanups. We got two of these hooks; they're great for snagging something like a tire or muddy piece of carpet, without having to grapple the item yourself. They are very sturdy.

bought these as a back up pair for moving around bales of hay cutie to see how well they worked I decided to test them and the design was below par it was awkward trying to use them due to the shape anf the metal handle made them too hot to use without gloves when I got them out of my truck

There is nothing wrong with this hook; it's well made and has a pretty good balance. My only ding is that I prefer a simpler hook with the hook planted in a hole in the handle. My preference should not detract from this hook, however. Well built and inexpensive.

There are better options with less stress

They dont grip without slamming into the bale of hay, unlike my thinner steel hay hooks. Even my meat hooks grip the hay better. The steel on these is thick, but if they could hammer the hooks 50% thinner (same gauge of wire), it would be an insane improvement
