Q: I have 3 spoiled Bantee Silkies 2 hens one roo. It's time for them to get out of their dog crate, but the marans are not having it. Will this little coop hold up to winds and bad weather? I could maybe weight it, but wouldn't want the roof to blow away.

- A: This coop holds up well against bad weather, but in the event of strong winds we suggest anchoring the coop to the ground, or making sure there is enough weight to keep it from being blown around. Little Chicken Coop

This is a well thought out little coop. Easy assembly and light weight. This coop is good for no more than two regular sized chicken IF the chickens are able to free range on a regular basis. The area under the coop housing could be a bit higher due that a regular chickens height being taller than the height in this area. We use this when there is a need to separate a chicken or two from the rest of the flock. We are very happy with this coop for what we use it for. First time chicken owners should get a larger coop and run if they are planning on getting more than 2 chickens.

Bought this to separate naughty chickens as needed. Is inside a chain link run. This is basically cardboard. Definitely won’t hold up to bad weather or even a neighborhood dog. Nest box is too small too be divided in two as designed. Will not hold more than 1-2 chickens even temporarily. Don’t buy as an only coop.

I chose this coop because it was lightweight; however, it was a little too flimsy; wood pieces were thin and tended to split when screws were placed. Nest box lid secured only w/lightweight magnet. Not a good value at the price.

Do not rely on the photos for size. This coop is small. Working okay for 7 chicks, but they are just about outgrowing it at close to 8 weeks old. Wood trim is very thin and quality is not great. Build your own and save the money in this.

Cheaply made. Has a really light coat of just primer on it. Had to paint it before assembling. It is much smaller than it looks. I would not buy it again if i had to do it over.
