Q: Can I used this product to kill ants in pineapple and papaya?

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! No, you cannot use Compare-N-Save 7.9% Bifenthrin Concentrate to kill ants on edible pineapple and papaya plants. According to the product's strict EPA labeling, this specific insecticide is formulated exclusively for non-bearing fruit and nut trees, lawns, ornamental plants, and structural perimeters. It is completely illegal and unsafe to apply it to bearing food crops, as the systemic chemical will absorb into the fruits and present a dangerous toxicity hazard if consumed by humans or pets.

Q: After you spray how long before it starts killing

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! Once you apply Compare-N-Save 7.9% Bifenthrin Concentrate, the active ingredient starts affecting an insect's nervous system on contact, though exposed pests typically take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours to fully die. Because it is designed to leave a long-lasting residual boundary rather than function as an instant, aerosol-style knockdown spray, it can take 2 to 7 days to notice a significant reduction in the overall pest population as more insects crawl over the dried barrier.

Effective Insect Killer

This has become my favorite insect control product. After much research I found this product and the key ingredient of "Bifenthrin" was more effective at killing wolf spiders. Since applying this in my yard, I have not seen a spider, cricket and other insects. I previously was using a different insecticide with a primary ingredient of Gamma-Cyhalothrin and that was not killing the insects I needed. I'm so glad I found this product! I'm about to check to see if they make this in the granules.

Worked great!

Worked great. Saw results immediately. Full results 24 hrs. Doesn't stink as bad as pyratheine. I do have to reapply every 7 days or when it rains. Definitely worth the purchase.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Best Fire Ant killer I’ve ever used

I live in north Louisiana and fire ants are a problem. I’ve used the granules and powders for years and have always had problems with the ants “migrating” or the mounds returning. Not with this product! I’ve used it for about a month during the beginning of ant season and have probably treated 30-40 mounds. None of the mounds have returned and only 1 had “migration”. I also had a very difficult spot around a hickory stump that I’ve treated many times in the past with powders/granules and the ants always return. I treated it one time with this product and have seen no activity since treating (amazing!). Also, I use a gallon “sprinkle” jug for treating (see video) which is significantly easier than powder (no wind issues) or granules (no watering). I’m really impressed with this product and would highly recommend it.

Yes, I recommend this product.
