Best knife I've carried.

I have had 2 of these in my life. One got stole. The second went through years of use and abuse. It took on all task assigned to it and asked for more. I'm 63 now and it finally went into ICU a few years ago when the hilt broke. 8 took a elk horn cut a slot in it and JB welded the blade in the slot and it is now back in service. You can't kill it.

The best Bowie knife on the market bar none !

I have had four other Trail Master Bowie knives from Cold Steel and no matter what the steel they were fabricated from, they always far and away exceeded my expectations in the field! Two were made of Carbon 5 Steel made in U.S.A which is no longer available and the other two were fabricated from San Mai from Japan. Both steels were a draw on edge retention and strength and I still have them to this day 31 years later! I have used them camping, wild boar hunting with my dogs and deep sea fishing preparing Swordfish and Blue Fin Tuna for my family after catching them. This newest Trail Master is fabricated from CPM 3V and it has already proven it self as a true work horse !

A good big heavy knife made of quality steel.

I bought a Cold Steel Trail Master in CPM 3V some time ago in the Czech Republic (Europe). The knife is good, heavy. Ideal for the forest. But, I miss the front finger grip. The unsharpened part is ideal for smaller jobs. The versatility of this knife is limited. The best is the CPM 3V steel.
