Honoring the name of Merrill's Marauders - also known as Code name "Galahad", the United States renowned assault unit within the South East Asian Theater of conflict - our Marauder Bowie is rugged, relentless and reliable. It features an extra broad, razor sharp blade, with a continuously curved edge, deep wide blade bevels and formidable clip point. During our intensive and torturous performance testing of this new Bowie our company President simply uttered one word: "Beastly". Suitable for many military, survival and hunting scenarios, the Marauder is equipped with a versatile Secure-Ex sheath allowing the knife to be fastened comfortably and securely on a belt or pack, or LBV.

  • Additional Features: Secure-Ex Sheath
  • Handle Length/Material: 5-1/8 in. Kray-Ex
  • Blade Shape: Clip Point
  • Knife Type: Fixed

Form over Function: Fab design but chipped blade

I got this knife for x-mas with the hopes of really putting it to good use. Unfortunately, after just two weeks of light garden work, it is really falling apart. Cons: The blade is covered in rust spots. To be fair, some of this could be my fault because I never oiled it, but it isn't as though I expected to need to with the first use. I thought I would have at least a month or so before I needed to maintenance it. Still, the rust isn't a deal breaker for me, but unfortunately, the chipping on the blade is. I've only used this to cut down burdock, pencil-quarter thick mulberry saplings, and slice open some mulch and gravel bags. After just two weeks of light garden work, I have a rusty blade with a chip in it. I would expect some wear and tear down the road, but considering this is marketed as a resilient survival knife, I'm pretty shocked. Pros: The design on this is unparalleled. I do love the texture on the handle (easy to hold when wet in the garden), the overall size (I'm a 31-year-old woman with medium size hands and this is the only knife of this size that I can comfortably grip), and love love love the sheath design (dries easily, three ways to attach to clothes). Final thoughts: Pros aside, I need to be able to trust the blade and so that is a huge for me. Hopefully, it was a fluke or random inclusion that led to the chip and not an issue with all these blades. I would be willing to give them another try on function since their form is so phenomenal.

No, I do not recommend this product.
