Lighter than advertised, but still a quality piece

An amazing knife. The grip is outstanding, sandpaper texture absolutely locks your hand. If you’re prone to sweaty hands like I am, this knife is for you. Edge retention is amazing, have used it for hours at a time with no signs of rolling or glinting. Coating has also held up quite well. I am a bit disappointed with the advertised weight of 18.3 oz, I assume that includes the sheath. It’s 14 oz. Was looking for something BEEFY to improve/replace my current wood harvester. While being a bit more comfortable in the hand, it doesn’t pack the same punch, mainly due to the balancing. Overall still an amazing knife, it batons like a dream and absolutely glides through smaller branches. Would highly recommend this piece for anyone who likes digging through deadwood to make fires, particularly in colder weather. I enjoy felling dying/dead trees without an axe, and this does the job marvelously. It won’t spark a flint, the coating makes the spine smooth but in a pinch you can use the real edge. The real calling card of this knife is the smooth swing, it feels very controlled. The balancing is amazing, for a somewhat heavier knife it feels very light in the hand. Not a Bowie by any means, but it chops well enough that you won’t notice. I was pleasantly surprised with how little fatigue I felt after stocking up the campfire. It absolutely eats even tougher woods, goes through oak branches in 3-5 swings for me. The one piece construction also makes pommel strikes very satisfying, pine snaps off if you look at one. While a bit lighter than I’d hoped, it still has a good spot in my collection. Cold Steel never misses. I’d recommend this and the Leatherneck Bowie for anyone looking for some reliable deep woods demolition. Pacman out :)

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very good outdoor knife.

Nice balance. The scales are synthetic, very good simulation of shagreen, that offers a very good grip. The haft is comfortable. My only criticism is that the grip is slightly short for a saber grip for thrusting. The blade is shaving sharp (arm hair) but only just and there is discernible tooth to the edge.

Yes, I recommend this product.
