Q: Will be using the winch to pull up a 350 Lb. horse carriage into and out of ramped horse trailer. Is the cable wire or rope?  Is this the right winch for me?

Q: I would like to use this for a pontoon hoist. it already has a automotive winch on it. I have no idea of the make winch but switch and solenoid look the same. Does the winch have to be wireless ready?

  • A: Unfortunately, our winches should never serve as hoists or hold any kind of suspended weight. They should only be used to pull. Thank you.

Q: I'd like to know if I can power the module and the rocker straight to the battery without killing my battery. I really don't want to run it to ignition. I understand the remote will sleep but not sure of the module and that rocker switch. Thanks

  • A: Yes, this is very common. You can connect the small power wire to the positive battery lead or positive power source.

Winch installed on UTV, wireless remote is excellent option when alone in the bush pulling or lifting logs, big game, getting unstuck.. Very easy to install..

Appears to be of good quality and I anticipate years of use. I have a Champion winch I purchased a few years ago and expected the Champion remote to be plug and play. Not so. I had to reverse the motor leads to get it to run in the right direction. The local switch is handle bar mounted. There are no handlebars in a Kawasaki mule. The existing dash mounted switch isn't compatible. That's a project for another day. The relay connections are color coded but I feel they also should be labeled. Installation was a fun but frustrating afternoon.

I've run quite a few champion products. 2500w Genny, 3550 Genny (it's loud) and a 4500lb winch. Picked up the remote kit for the quad. It seems to work as intended. We'll see how it holds up over time. My 4500 lb winch has held up well and I abuse it pretty badly. I'm heavy into the mudding scene so the remote kit will be put through its paces. I get buried in 3-4 ft of mud on the regular. Hopefully it lasts like the winch.
