Rated 1 out of 5 by from I don't see the point of reviewing upon purchase. Ask for reviews after a year of use, I just bought it haven't even used it yet. Anything brand new should work but how bout you follow up with another review a year later. Most stuff doesn't work after a year. We shouldn't need to buy extended warranty of it's a good product. It either works long time and I recommend products or if they don't, I won't buy that brand again.

I've never owned a generator but people keep telling me I will break my new 65"led sony TVs or my internet/dvr surveillance system if I use a gas generator. Is this true cause of dirty power(?)

Asked by: Ed1216
Champion portable generators will output an industry standard THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) rating of about 12%-20% depending on load applied. They will produce a sine wave, not a modified or square wave. This is perfectly acceptable for running common commodities found in your home such as TVs, computers, your appliances, etc. THD is a measure of the deviation of a sine wave from a "perfect" sine wave. All electricity, including line electricity, has measurable THD. If you have a specific item that requires less than 5% THD such as a UPS style battery backup, a pellet stove or high efficiency furnace control board, we recommend purchasing a Champion Inverter Generator (sizes from 1600W to 3500W); Champion Digital Hybrid Series Open Frame Inverter (sizes from 3500W to 8750W) or a Champion Home Standby Generator (range from 8.5KW to 14KW); all units provide less than 5% THD. Please consult you specific appliance manufacturer to determine if the appliance requires low THD (less than 5%) to operate properly.

Is there a natural gas conversion kit for this generator?

Asked by: TomCat54
Unfortunately, this machine will not run on natural gas. It is designed to run on gasoline and propane only. We cannot recommend or encourage the modification of the generator in this fashion as it will void your emissions warranty. We have been advised by environmental agencies that unless we have certified the emissions after conversion with them, we can no longer make the recommendation. The conversion company will have this responsibility. We are very sorry as we understand how common of a request this is. Sadly, ever changing environmental restrictions are being placed on manufacturers and our hands are tied. Thank you.

Is this generator very loud?

Asked by: Gg123
This generator is rated at 68dBA at 50% load, from a distance of 23ft. If volume level of the generator is a major concern, you may want to research our inverter line of generators that are fully enclosed and also offer auto-idle based on load. These are much quieter in comparison. Thank you.

Can the exhaust be directed outside so as to run in a basement?

Asked by: Yank66
The generator should never be operated indoors at any time. Do not try to extend the exhaust out of a building. All it takes is a small exhaust leak to lead to a catastrophic and fatal incident. Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas that kills. There are safety canopies like the Champion Storm Shield available for severe weather operation. Thank you.
