Table won’t raise above 34” before gears slip

We purchased this table and it arrived with a damaged top. We were able to hide the damaged section along the wall, but then we realized that the gears to raise the table are undersized and the top is too heavy to support the crank so the gears slip instead of raising the height. It’s all put together now and I really needed a desk so I can’t really return it… but I’ll warn everyone else to not make the same mistake I did. This table will not adjust above 34”.
