Not as durable as they used to be

Bought one pair from Fred Meyers and two pairs from the Grange in Klamath Falls two summers ago. Sad to say that none of them lasted as long as my Levi's or Carhartts that lasted me 5 years when I bought them 10 years ago and was doing property maintenance. The ones from the Grange got down to the white strings and tore across the top of my thigh after about a year. One pair split between the waist band and back pocket only months after purchase. Seconds??? Lighter weight denim??? I'll never know.
