These Bonnie Plants 19.3 oz. Roma Classic Paste Tomato yields a classic paste and sauce tomato! Meaty and dense, this tomato seed variety has thick walls, little juice and minimal seeds, so pastes and sauces are thick and flavorful (cooking actually intensifies the tomato flavor). The tomato seeds produce most of their fruits within a short window of time, so you'll have plenty to cook all at once. Chopped tomatoes also freeze well to be cooked at a later date. Tomatoes require full sun to grow. They take about 80 days to mature fully.

For additional information on this product, please see the Product Documents section for all downloadable user manuals, installation guides, brochures and warranty statements.

Yes, this is a terrific sauce tomato!

I read that the Roma tomato makes a terrific sauce tomato, so I tried one plant this year. I had an easy recipe for tomato sauce that you freeze, and I wanted to give it a try. Wow, this was a VERY productive plant this year! I'd estimate I harvested 15 lbs. or more of tomatoes from just this one plant. MY recipe recommends using 5 lbs. of tomatoes, so when I had that many collected I made my first sauce. Wow it came out nice!! Taste and texture were excellent! I made two batches this season, and we at the rest cut up as salad tomatoes. (We even sliced some long-ways for use on burgers, and they worked fine that way, too. Next year I plan on planting THREE of these plants! I'm 100% satisficed with the quality of the plant and the tomatoes it produced. But I made ONE BIG MISTAKE in selecting its planting location: I planted it between my two Bonnie Super Sweet 100 plants. Those plants are MONSTEROUSLY BIG, growing over 5 feet tall. My normal-sized Roma sorta got lost between them!
