One of the most popular tomatoes grown in the U.S., Better Boy is also one of Bonnie's all-time best sellers. It's no wonder, either, as plants produce lots of large, smooth-skinned red fruits bursting with classic tomato flavor. Perfect for slicing! This plant performs well in many areas of the country. Vines will grow tall, so be sure to stake or cage plants for support.

Better Boy are a favorite in my garden

My plants arrived in great condition. They were well packaged and looked green and beautiful. I did as the directions suggested- unpack, water, allow roots and plant to recover then plant, and they have done wonderful! I have already have a lot of tomatoes on the vines. I live in zone 8. I planted the plants March 15th. Make sure you plant them in full sun area and in the ground or containers that drain well. I planted mine in a raised bed garden in full sun and used organic compost, organic fertilizer (Miracle grow). I water when the dirt feels dry when I stick my finger in up to my knuckle on my pointer finger (about an inch deep). I have them caged them to help support them. I did prune them just a bit at the ground level to ensure proper air flow at the roots (I removed the leaves closets to the ground, but only up to the first flowering branches. I also removed the suckers). I highly recommend these Betterboy Tomato plants.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Early Bird

So glad to be able to get a couple of early plants(before local stores stock them). Allows for much earlier start to harvest and a staggered planting with plants to be bought later. Will put these first 2 in larger containers and move in and outside depending on weather until planting.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Tomatoes almost dead (one didn’t make it)

One of the two tomato plants I bought was dead or near dead on arrival. The other was holding on for dear life even after being watered and sunned for two days has started to die and am afraid to transplant it.

No, I do not recommend this product.
