Growing in grass-like clumps of hollow, tube-shaped leaves, Onion Chives should be part of every herb garden. Plants are frost-tolerant, easy to grow, do nicely in containers, and can be used for landscape borders. Use to flavor soups, salads, egg dishes, baked potatoes, and virtually any other dish in need of a hint of onion. The pretty light purple blooms appear in springtime and have a delightfully peppery flavor.
