An easy-to-grow, early-to-mature summer squash, it's a pretty, tasty addition for your favorite recipes. Try it baked in casseroles, stuffed, or paired with bacon in a galette. It also makes tasty "noodles": just add your favorite sauce. The squash grows beautifully in raised beds or in-ground gardens. Plant outdoors when danger of frost has passed, spacing plants 36 to 48 inches apart. Matures in just 53 days. Pick fruit young at 4-6" long for best flavor and texture. Edible flowers taste great stuffed and fried. Crookneck Squash prefers full sun and consistently moist, well-drained soil.
