- A: Howdy neighbor! Bird-X Repellent Gel should not be used on railings that people touch, as it leaves a sticky, grease-like residue that is highly stubborn to clean off hands and clothes. The product label also notes that the sticky chemical compound is harmful if absorbed through the skin, making it completely unsafe for high-touch residential areas.14 days agoHelpful?

"Removal of Bird Proof Use Bird-X SAFETY SOLVENT CLEANER, mineral spirits, naphtha or powder types cleaning agents to clean Bird Proof. Squirted this gel in & roundness. The mud swallows went nuts trying to find a resting spot. the finally gave up and went elsewhere. I was able to knock nests down without being pecked. Now I need to clean and apply more to prevent their return.

It works!! Just FYI, I was in a hurry to try it and did not think to soak it in hot water for a little while. Overall, no birds nesting!!!!
