The shirts originally had the extra room like a loose fit shirt, but after the initial wash per the instructions, the shirts shrank. I now have shirts that have just enough room that I will deal with them until I can get myself to try a 5x.

These short sleeve shirts are hard to find. They sell out at the store almost before they have a chance to put them on the rack. We live in a community that has a lot of farms and independent workers and like my husband, most do not want long sleeves getting in the way. These shirts were just what he needed to be comfortable while he is working as an electrician.
