Q: is this safe to use over an open fire to heat up water? wondering if the internal sealant will melt

- A: Howdy neighbor! Please do not use this galvanized pail over an open fire, as the extreme heat will break down the zinc coating and release highly toxic fumes into the air. Heating water in this bucket also causes chemical leaching, making the water unsafe for drinking, cooking, or washing. For your safety, it is always best to stick with stainless steel or cast iron cookware when heating anything over a campfire!a month agoHelpful?
Q: Does this have the bottom glued on ? Or welded? In the past I bought a pail that was glued and I wanted to make sure.

They glue the inside seam of the bucket. Well they did a pretty crappy job at it and it doesn’t hold any kind of liquid.
