Q&As

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: If this is U. S. made, why does country of origin state that it is imported? Also, “Built in the U. S. A.” is not the same as “Made in USA”.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! The Bear Edge line uses a mix of US-made and imported components, causing conflicting labels. While Bear & Son Cutlery (parent company) has a Alabama factory, some Bear Edge products use imported parts (often from China). "Built in the USA" often signifies final assembly in the U.S. with foreign components, rather than 100% "Made in USA".

Price is good for such a good quality knife.

I like the knife, it is built well with little to no play. The spring works well and hasn't broken yet, unlike a kershaw showtime I had. It is a good size and uses a linear lock (not liner lock, I don't use that term, don't bother trying to correct me.) The blade is tough, however, edge retention is a bit weak depending on what is being cut. I use it a lot for food preparation on cutting boards.

Yes, I recommend this product.
