Need an effective way to protect your fence charger from lightning surges? This American FarmWorks Electric Fence Lightning Arrestor helps protect your fence charger by creating a path of least resistance to divert lightning surges to the ground. Install this electric fence lightning diverter at each corner of the fence for added protection. Connect the fence wire to the electric fence lightning arrestor kit and ground rods using an American FarmWorks 20,000 volt underground/hook-up wire for all connections. Please note this lightning diverter requires a separate ground rod system consisting of one 6 ft. or 8 ft. long ground rod.

    Bought one and after a light rain shower it was shorting out. After looking closer it had a crack I hadn’t noticed so I went and bought another and made sure it wasn’t cracked. After a brief rain the new one also shorts out to the ground. Would not recommend.

    Broke before I got in installed .

    I got it out of the box and the end broke before I even got the wires on. Its very brittle .

    Beware!

    Beware! Purchased and installed 100 feet away from charger and it intermittently (1 out of three or four pulses) shorts through the arrestor to ground. Useless for me...as is the ground rod I installed for it.

    No, I do not recommend this product.
