Q: Is it pet friendly
2 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hello, Amdro Quick Kill Carpenter Bee Killer is safe for pets as long as they are kept away during application and only return once the spray has completely dried. The active ingredient, Zeta-Cypermethrin, is formulated to be effective against insects while remaining low-toxic for mammals when used strictly as directed. To ensure your pets stay safe, always remove their food and water bowls before spraying and wait for surfaces to be dry to the touch before letting them back into the treated area.2 months agoHelpful?
Q: Is it good for ground bees?
2 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hi, while this Amdro formula is specifically labeled for wood-infesting insects, its active ingredient is highly effective at killing ground bees on contact. For the best results, spray the nest entrance thoroughly during the late evening when the bees are less active to ensure maximum exposure. This fast-acting spray will help you quickly reclaim your lawn while providing a protective barrier against future nesting in that spot.2 months agoHelpful?

I've had carpenter bees boring into the outside eaves of my screen porch for the last several years. It has been a thorn in my side. It was so bad that I couldn't enjoy sitting on my porch without raising my blood pressure because I could hear them chewing away at my wood. I've tried all-natural repellents such as wind chimes and vinegar in the hopes of making them move away without killing them, but that was worthless. I've tried the foaming wasp killer, and that works fine, but it's harder to hit them from far away. (The eaves are over 12 feet off the ground). I've also resorted to hitting them with a tennis racket, and as satisfying as that is, it's also a losing battle.
I used this for the first time, and within minutes, the bees were dropping out of their holes. They would squirm around on the ground for a few minutes, but they would inevitably stop their wriggling and die. I counted around twenty dead bees after the first application. As of the morning after, I have yet to see any bees flying around like I usually do. Several people reported issues with the nozzle, so I just poured it into a pump sprayer to circumvent any possible problems. Time will tell how it functions as a repellent, but if you need something to kill those sons-of-bees, this is it.
