Repair windows, doors, columns, decks, clapboards, millwork, furniture and more. Continually specified for use on historic homes and buildings. Products are easily mixed at a 1/1 ratio. GREENGUARD certified for virtually no VOCs. Non-hazardous products; safe to use for both exterior and interior applications.

LiquidWood is a solvent-free, liquid epoxy resin for consolidation and structural reinforcement of rotted/deteriorated wood. LiquidWood will restore and permanently seal existing wood and protect it from further deterioration when absorbed into the raw wood. It is both insect and water-proof. It is the perfect primer and consolidant to be used prior to applying WoodEpox. LiquidWood has a 30-45 minute pot life (working time) after being mixed and the treated wood will harden in just a few hours.

WoodEpox is a light-weight, non-sagging, moldable wood replacement compound. It is used to make both structural and aesthetic repairs to rotted, damaged, or missing wood. WoodEpox permanently fills voids and will not shrink or delaminate from the substrate. It can easily be machined, sanded, nailed, and painted, and can be colored with powered dyes and pigments if staining is required. For best results, use with LiquidWood. WoodEpox has a 20-30 minute pot life and can be mixed and molded by hand.
Pro Tip: Apply WoodEpox while the LiquidWood is still tacky for a quick and more efficient repair.

  • REPAIR ROTTED WOOD: Use LiquidWood as a consolidant to harden and strengthen wood that is soft, porous, or falling apart, and WoodEpox to fill and rebuild any missing sections of wood.
  • NO SHRINKAGE: Will not shrink, delaminate, crack, or crumble.
  • EASY TO USE: Easy to follow steps for the DIY and Pro. Hardened products are easy to sand, carve, drill, and finish.
  • PAINTABLE & STAINABLE: Finished product can be painted and stained like wood.

We purchased the Wood Resto Kit to fill some voids at the bottom of a 1941 sectional wooden garage door that was damaged likely in the 1960s, and at that time was covered over with plywood. To repair, we first had to get the broken boards into the same plane by clamping an oak board (cut to size) to the interior surface of the door, and then had to cinch the relationship together with regularly spaced wood screws that permanently held the oak to the damaged section. While doing so, we roughed up & cleaned surfaces with a wire wheel, slightly wet the surfaces, and applied liberal amounts of exterior grade wood glue. Once dried, we randomly screwed stainless screws below grade (to create keys that the WoodEpox could surround in order to lock it into place) in the void areas, and then mixed and applied the LiquidWood treatment and allowed it to thoroughly dry. Finally, we kneaded the two components of the WoodEpox together and applied it into the void. After ample drying, we sanded the WoodEpox flush with the surface using a random orbital sander, and applied two coats of oil primer, and thereafter two coats of high quality latex (plenty of binder in this paint). The result is that one simply cannot externally discern that there was ever damage to this area.

I found the putty very difficult to mix. It was very dry. Once it was mixed, application was also difficult. After it dried, it was ok to sand smooth.
