DAP Plastic Wood All Purpose Latex Wood Filler is a high quality, latex-based wood filler formulated to match various wood finishesfrom a natural pine to dark walnut and several shades in between, including white. Wood grain filler is ideal for repairing cracks, gouges, holes and other surface defects on furniture, woodwork, molding, cabinets, paneling, plywood, windows, doors and even painted surfaces.

DAP Plastic Wood (all versions) has a shelf life of 12 months (from the date of manufacture, when stored properly in the factory sealed packaged). Once opened/used, shelf life (for reuse) cannot be guaranteed, as storage stability depend solely on how well the package is resealed/stored. - A: Thank you for posting your inquiry on DAP Plastic Wood All Purpose Wood Filler. The DAP Plastic Wood will adhere to itself once fully dry. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: Larger and deeper holes greater than ¼” may require more than one application. For larger and deeper holes greater than ¼”, apply thin layers to build up thick sections as needed. Allow wood filler to dry before applying next layer. Because you did not provide any details regarding your attempted application, such as the application conditions, surface preparation or application technique, it is difficult to provide you with a more detailed reply or more specific product usage guidance in this format. DAP Plastic Wood All Purpose Wood Filler (All Versions) is formulated to produce a thick, creamy “paste-like” consistency. Based on your commentary indicating that the product had a “partially dry” texture, it would appear to indicate that that the project was likely aged/expired. Aged project will tend to be thicker, drier and more difficult to apply. Should you have any additional questions or require assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477. If you would like to verify the age of the material, when calling in please be sure to have the package available, as we will need the production code printed on the package in order to determine the date of manufacture.

Great but skip the tube

Like others said, the tube is tough to use. I only used about a quarter of it and the next time I got a little aggressive trying to squeeze it out and split the tube down the middle. The product is great so this time around I bought the tub to hopefully have better luck

i bot a 6 Oz tube of white and used it once less than a year later went to use it and it so dry its hard to get out of the tube. online chat says i can add water a knead it around. prob push hard material into the tube and add water but i will stick to glue and saw dust

If the product should thicken to the point of being difficult to spread or is excessively dry (which typically indicates that the product is aged or nearing/beyond its 12-month shelf life), providing that the material is still pliable, a small volume of water may be added to the product and mixed thoroughly until the original smooth/even textured consistency is restored.
