Ideal for Travel Trailers w/30 amp plugs

Just picked up this generator yesterday. It's the perfect sized unit to provide backup power for our 24' Travel Trailer. It's powerful enough to run the A/C and microwave or coffee pot, yet light enough to load in the back of the truck singlehandedly (60lbs). It also fits under my BakFlip MX4 bed cover with a 1/2" to spare.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Still early, but some disappointment

Received this iGen4000DFcv Inverter Generator today. Did the unpackaging, read all of the instructions. Filled with oil. My intension is to run the genset on propane only as I want to store it in a safe place without gasoline fumes and draining and Stable, etc. Had the unit outside, propane tank connected to genset, ECO mode off, Switch on, choke on. Pulled several times and nothing, tried the chock at 1/2 position, off position, back to on position. After 50 pulls, Stopped. Decided to hold the propane tank upside down for a few seconds. Pulled a few more times and it finally started. Ran well. Let warm up for 15 to 20 minutes in bot the ECO and off modes. Shut the unit down. Propane still on. Came back 5 minutes later and tried starting again, same results more than 40 pulls and nothing. Finally, had to pull the side cover and the cover off the filter and resort to a shot of starting fluid into the breather opening. Unit finally started. Ran Ok again. I am disappointed in that I would expect this unit to start "significantly" easier than this exercise demonstrated. Especially for a brand new unit. It was 55F outside, so not cold. I can't imagine trying trying to start this unit when its 5F outside and you really need it. I hope it gets better or I can find a way to get it to start better than it does. The engineering in this aspect leaves alot to be desired, especially for the cost.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice generator but with tradeoffs

It's lightweight (for the power), compact, and affordable. But there are tradeoffs. First, I live in Colorado, so I bought the high altitude jet kit. It did not come with directions and I could not find online directions for my model. I found directions for the iGen4500, but they were kind of a nightmare (and I've rebuilt car engines). This generator is optimized for cost, size, weight, and noise, but not ease of service. It took about three hours to replace one carburetor jet! Second, buy the model with electric start if you plan to use propane. The propane pressure regulator is designed to avoid letting propane flow when the engine is not running and pull starting only creates a brief weak vacuum, so it's very hard to get it to start, even with the choke.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Dual fuel for the win!

Haven’t used it yet, but this seems to fit the bill. Dual fuel and enough power for my little camper.
