For cleaning the bottom of the hoof I lay the end flat, and it cleans a lot of area in only a few swipes. Then I can use the end to get the more difficult to remove crud.

The best pick I have ever owned. Why exactly does it work so well? I don't know. But it does. The handle is a nice fit in your hand. The pick is the right shape and is strong and sharp. I am able to get the hooves cleaned better and faster with this. I'll never regret the price.
